About the Role
As a Secondary Early Career Teacher, you will deliver engaging, subject-specialist lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 where applicable), supporting student achievement and maintaining high standards of learning, behaviour, and progress while completing your ECT induction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging subject-specific lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam specifications.
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess, track, and support student progress within your subject area.
- Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN students.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and curriculum development.
- Take on form tutor responsibilities where required and support pastoral care.
- Work collaboratively with subject colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers.
- Engage fully with the school's structured ECT induction and mentoring programme.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or expected QTS by September 2026.
- Eligibility to begin or continue the Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction.
- Strong subject knowledge in your specialist teaching area.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
