Your Teaching is currently recruiting reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work on a day-to-day supply basis across a range of secondary schools in Croydon and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work within education, whether you are looking for regular supply work, additional experience in schools, or a pathway into teaching. We are working with a number of partner schools that require Cover Supervisors on a daily basis, meaning there are opportunities for both immediate starts and ongoing work throughout the academic year.

About the Role

As a Supply Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects.
  • Supervise classes and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Ensure pupils remain on task and complete the work set.
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Confidence leading groups of students independently.
  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Tutor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or similar.
  • Experience within a secondary school environment.
  • Individuals considering a future career in teaching.
