About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English & Maths Tutor to support students in developing their academic skills and confidence. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that help learners achieve their educational goals, whether preparing for exams, improving core skills, or catching up with curriculum requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English and Maths tuition sessions.
- Assess students' abilities and tailor lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Support students with literacy, numeracy, comprehension, grammar, spelling, and mathematical concepts.
- Prepare students for assessments, GCSEs, SATs, or other relevant examinations.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents/carers.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and lesson plans.
Requirements
- Strong qualifications in English, Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A patient, supportive, and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) if working with children.
Desirable Skills
- Experience preparing students for GCSEs, SATs, Functional Skills, or equivalent qualifications.
- Knowledge of current UK curriculum requirements.
