Your Sanctuary is a Surrey-based charity dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. With a trauma-informed, needs-led, and holistic approach, Your Sanctuary helps survivors make informed decisions and advocates on their behalf.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Woking. Working within our adult community-based service, you will provide emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic abuse including undertaking risk assessments, developing safety plans and liaising with statutory agencies and other professionals as required. You may also be involved in facilitating group work programmes, taking calls on our specialist helpline and delivering presentations in the community to help raise awareness of the issues surrounding domestic abuse.
Skills and Experience
- Supporting individuals (not direct personal or medical care) who have been affected by domestic abuse or other trauma, including signposting and working on a multi-agency basis.
- The ability to communicate calmly and effectively with the ability to influence other stakeholders to get the best possible outcomes for survivors.
- Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills along with a resilient and flexible approach to work.
- An understanding of trauma-informed support means in practice.
- A full UK driving licence and a vehicle that can be used for business purposes, live within a 45 minute driving distance of Woking and be able to undertake ad hoc out of hours on-call duties as part of a rota.
The full time salary for this post (36 hours Monday to Friday) is £25,750 per annum. In addition to excellent training, Your Sanctuary offers 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, regular clinical supervision, an employee assistance programme and free car-parking.
