We are recruiting for an experienced Paraplanner to work within a highly successful Principal Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management based in Moorgate, London.
Role overview
In order for the Partner to continue to provide holistic advice and team-leadership to the highest level, he is recruiting an experienced paraplanner to support him and his team to service his client base.
Ideally the candidate will be fully CII / CISI diploma level qualified and will be capable and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
The Role - Paraplanner
You will be working within a busy team and your role will include
- Support the Financial Planner in research and analysis to meet client needs and objectives.
- Prepare client financial plans and suitability reports/letters for Financial Planners – including annual review, new business or ad hoc advice reports.
- Research of internal and external products to ensure the highest standards of advice
- Prepare documentation to be held on file or included within reports, as applicable, to support the recommendation and justify the provider and product recommended.
- Manage the presentation of technical data to the Financial Planners.
- Compile cashflow models when required as part of the advice process.
- Provide the client with a positive professional experience, offering qualified knowledge and ongoing assistance.
- Maintain up to date product and technical knowledge.
- Maintain all standards of performance as required by the company
- Develop and maintain internal relationships within all parts of the business.
- Complete Continuous Professional Development to meet regulatory requirements and personal development needs.
- The Person – Paraplanner
- Previous paraplanning experience in a similar role at a senior level.
- Be level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS) qualified, working towards this, OR qualified via experience.
- This is an interesting and challenging role that would suit a confident, numerate, IT proficient and professional individual who enjoys using their initiative and who has a ‘can do’ working style
- Experienced in the administration of pension, investment & IHT products
- Are highly organised and have excellent communication skills
- Confident in dealing with clients and third parties and can work with total discretion.
- Good IT knowledge – experience of Voyant, i Business, FE Analytics, Salesforce highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of the Financial Planning process.
- Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal communication.
- Customer service skills – providing an excellent service to the adviser and client.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- Accuracy and attention to detail to balance demands of role.
- Broad knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and high level of technical knowledge.
- In depth knowledge and experience with cashflow modelling.
- Ability to manage and complete projects.

- Basic salary: £40-50k starting salary (dependent on skills and experience)
- Working hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
- Pension: Auto enrolment pension scheme
- Holiday entitlement: 25 days, plus bank holidays
