Excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join the firm in a standalone role, directly supporting the Managing Director.
Part time and full time applicants will both be considered.
Responsibilities include
- Managing the firm's day-to-day legal cashiering, bookkeeping and finance functions.
- Posting client and office account transactions using the Proclaim Accounts system.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records, spreadsheets and supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
- Liaising with the firm's suppliers, fee earners, directors and external accountants regarding financial matters.
- Carrying out regular reconciliations of client, office and other firm bank accounts.
- Producing client and office matter balance reports from Proclaim as required.
- Processing bills, receipts, payments, transfers and account queries.
- Preparing financial reports for the firm's directors and accountants.
- Assisting with the preparation, checking and timely submission of VAT information to the firm's accountants.
- Supporting external accountants and auditors by providing financial reports and documentation when required.
- Ensuring all financial records remain accurate, complete and up to date.
- Assisting with invoices, expenses, billing, credit control and other finance-related duties.
- Undertaking any other bookkeeping, cashiering or finance duties reasonably required by the directors or external accountants.
Skills/Qualifications required
- Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm or in a similar finance role within the legal industry.
- Working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Experience using Proclaim or a similar legal accounts or practice management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
