We're looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a proven background in CAPEX sales, bespoke manufacturing, and technical solution selling to join our growing commercial team. This is an opportunity for a commercially driven individual who understands complex engineering sales cycles, enjoys developing long-term customer relationships, and can identify opportunities where tailored manufacturing solutions add genuine value.
The Role:
- Reporting to the Sales Director, you'll take ownership of an established sales territory while identifying and developing new opportunities across the UK.
- This is not a catalogue sales role. Every solution is engineered to meet individual customer requirements, meaning you'll work consultatively with customers, understanding their operational challenges before developing bespoke material handling solutions alongside our engineering team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounts, generating new business, and delivering profitable growth through the sale of high-value capital equipment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver annual sales targets of approximately £1 million.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers.
- Generate new business opportunities within manufacturing, warehousing and industrial sectors.
- Identify opportunities for bespoke capital equipment solutions.
- Carry out consultative site surveys and customer meetings.
- Produce technical proposals and quotations in conjunction with the engineering department.
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through quotation, negotiation and order placement.
- Build strong long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline.
- Support the Sales Director with strategic business development initiatives.
About You:
You'll be an experienced engineering sales professional with a successful history of selling bespoke manufactured solutions rather than standard products. You'll have:
- Proven experience selling capital equipment (CAPEX) into industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Experience selling bespoke engineered or manufactured solutions.
- Strong technical and mechanical understanding.
- Excellent consultative selling skills with the ability to understand customer processes and engineer commercial solutions.
- Experience managing long and complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
- A proven ability to develop key accounts and win new business.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience within material handling, automation, conveyors, special purpose machinery, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering would be highly advantageous.
