Mechanical Fitter / Engineer £34,500 £40,600 + Overtime Permanent Your Recruitment Coach are currently working with an established engineering business in Manchester, specialising in the repair, refurbishment and reverse engineering of industrial pumps and rotating equipment. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Fitter or Engineer with experience working on pumps, rotating equipment or similar mechanical machinery. What will you be doing? As a Mechanical Fitter / Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete overhaul of a wide range of industrial pumps and associated equipment. Your duties will include: Stripping, inspecting, repairing, refurbishing, assembling and testing industrial pumps. Carrying out complete engineered pump overhauls. Working with a variety of rotating equipment and associated spares. Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical equipment. Supporting occasional customer/site work. Completing engineering, service and inspection documentation. Working closely with the fitting and quotation team. Working to tight deadlines while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship. Using mechanical aids when handling heavy equipment. What are we looking for? We're keen to speak with time-served Mechanical Fitters / Engineers who have a strong mechanical background. Ideally, you will have experience with: Industrial pumps Rotating equipment Gearboxes Motors Fans Pump refurbishment/overhaul Reverse engineering Industrial, chemical, power generation or water environments You will also need: Recognised engineering qualifications / proof of time-served experience. A good understanding of engineering tolerances. Strong mechanical fitting and problem-solving skills. A full, clean UK driving licence. A flexible, "can-do" attitude.
