Your Recruitment Coach is delighted to be working on behalf of one of our established clients to recruit an experienced Management Accountant based in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to join a growing organisation where they can play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts while providing valuable financial insight to support the wider business. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting financial reports.
- Producing monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger.
- Preparing journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Providing financial analysis and performance reporting to senior management.
- Supporting year-end accounts and external audit requirements.
- Assisting with VAT returns and statutory reporting.
- Monitoring financial controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Working closely with operational managers to provide commercial financial support.
- Supporting ad-hoc finance projects as required.
About You
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:
- 3-5 years' experience working within a Management Accounting or similar finance role.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong knowledge of management accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software or ERP systems.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
- A proactive and positive approach with a desire to improve processes.
