This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who wants full ownership of a finance function within a scaling tech business — and who has genuine ambition to develop into a future CFO.
The Opportunity
This is a stand-alone Finance Manager role (managing one part-time Credit Controller) where you will take responsibility for all day-to-day financial operations while also playing a key role in supporting strategic growth. The business operates within the software sector and is entering an exciting phase of development. They are looking for someone commercially sharp, hands-on, and hungry to step up over time. You won’t just be producing numbers — you’ll be influencing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the finance function
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Strong experience with zero-based budgeting (essential)
- Managing cashflow and financial controls
- Overseeing invoicing and working closely with the part-time Credit Controller to optimise collections
- Providing commercial insight to senior leadership
- Building financial models and supporting business case development
- Supporting year-end processes and external advisors
About You
- Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
- Strong SME experience, ideally within software / SaaS / tech
- Confident preparing full management accounts independently
- Demonstrable experience operating zero-based budgeting
- Commercially minded and comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders
- Ambitious and motivated to progress toward a CFO-level position
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model (3 days per week in Loughborough office)
