The Opportunity

This is a stand-alone Finance Manager role (managing one part-time Credit Controller) where you will take responsibility for all day-to-day financial operations while also playing a key role in supporting strategic growth. The business operates within the software sector and is entering an exciting phase of development. They are looking for someone commercially sharp, hands-on, and hungry to step up over time. You won’t just be producing numbers — you’ll be influencing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the finance function
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Strong experience with zero-based budgeting (essential)
  • Managing cashflow and financial controls
  • Overseeing invoicing and working closely with the part-time Credit Controller to optimise collections
  • Providing commercial insight to senior leadership
  • Building financial models and supporting business case development
  • Supporting year-end processes and external advisors

About You

  • Qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Strong SME experience, ideally within software / SaaS / tech
  • Confident preparing full management accounts independently
  • Demonstrable experience operating zero-based budgeting
  • Commercially minded and comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress toward a CFO-level position
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model (3 days per week in Loughborough office)
