Some people count sheep at night.
You’ll be counting bends.
We’re on the hunt for a Press Brake Operative to join a long established and growing sheet metal specialist in Northampton. These guys have been turning flat sheets into precision engineered parts for over 30 years, supplying some of the UK and Europe’s most demanding industries.
The work? It’s all about precision, pride, and knowing your way around a press brake like it’s your own kitchen kettle. This is a nightshift role, meaning no traffic, no queues for the coffee machine, and you get your days free.
What you’ll be doing:
Operating a press brake to produce high quality components to tight tolerances.
Working from engineering drawings and job sheets.
Performing your own checks to make sure every bend is spot on.
Communicating with the team to keep jobs flowing smoothly (even at 2am).
Pitching in with other manufacturing tasks when needed. Variety is the spice of night life.
What we’re looking for:
Solid press brake operating experience (essential).
Manufacturing or sheet metal background.
Self motivated, with a sharp eye for detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a small, skilled night crew.
What’s in it for you:
£16 to £18/hour (including shift allowance).
Monday to Thursday, 19:30 – 06:00. 3 day weekends, every week.
Company pension scheme.
Free on site parking.
Uniform provided.
20 days holiday plus public holidays.
Staff canteen, local amenities, and the occasional staff event to keep things lively.
If you’re the kind of person who’d rather be crafting precision bends than bingeing late night TV, we’d love to hear from you.
