Can you set a laser, read the drawing and spot a bad cut before it wastes a full sheet? This role is for someone who understands more than where the start button is. Starting from £15 per hour | Rotating Days | Loughborough You’ll be setting and operating CNC laser cutting machinery, producing sheet metal components from engineering drawings and checking that the finished parts are right before they move to the next stage of production. The company manufactures a wide range of metal products from its Loughborough facility and continues to invest in machinery, automation and training. Once permanent, you’ll have access to a profit share scheme, enhanced overtime rates and an additional £1 per hour as you become trained across more areas of the business. Position: CNC Laser Setter / Operator Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts Morning shift: 6:00am to 2:00pm Afternoon shift: 2:00pm to 10:00pm Pay: Starting from £15 per hour Employment: Temp to permanent, with the first 13 weeks completed through Your Recruiters What you’ll be doing * Setting and operating CNC laser cutting machinery * Loading the correct programmes and adjusting machine settings for each job * Reading and working from engineering drawings * Producing sheet metal components in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium * Checking finished parts using verniers, calipers and micrometers * Identifying cutting faults and making adjustments before material is wasted * Loading raw material and unloading finished components * Using a counterbalance forklift once trained and authorised * Carrying out basic machine checks and assisting with fault finding * Keeping the machine and surrounding work area clean and safe What you’ll need Previous experience operating CNC or laser cutting machinery is required. Experience using Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic or similar equipment would transfer particularly well.
