You’ll be joining a specialist engineering business producing high spec systems used across a range of industrial applications. This isn’t mass production – it’s detailed, quality focused work where engineers are trusted to get involved and make an impact.

This role offers a rare mix of design, hands on involvement, and real world application. You won’t just be designing in isolation – you’ll be part of the full process from concept through to build and test.

The Role

  • You’ll design, build and support electronic systems within complex engineered products, combining development work with practical involvement.
  • Design electronic circuits and PCB layouts from scratch.
  • Use design tools such as Eagle or Atmel Studio.
  • Work with communication protocols including CANbus, Ethernet and Modbus.
  • Support testing on rigs and assist with fault finding and improvements.
  • Modify and improve existing designs based on performance and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with production and test teams to ensure designs are practical and effective.

What We’re Looking For

  • This role suits an electronics engineer who enjoys both design work and getting hands on with real products.
  • Experience in electronics design (circuits / PCB layout).
  • Comfortable working with both hardware and some software.
  • Able to interpret technical requirements and turn them into practical solutions.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident working in a hands on engineering environment, not purely desk based.
  • Good communicator and team player.

If you like seeing your work come to life rather than disappearing into a file somewhere, this will suit you.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Private Medical Insurance (following successful probation).
  • Company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer contribution via salary sacrifice).
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown (increasing with service).
  • Company sick pay scheme after probation (up to 12 weeks full pay, then 12 weeks at 50%).
  • Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 confidential support service).
  • Paid eye tests and contribution towards glasses for DSE users.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern with early finish every Friday.
  • Clean, organised and professional working environment.
  • Exposure to specialist, high spec engineering projects.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Expenses and mileage reimbursed where applicable.
