Part‑time (5.75 practising annual) locum consultant in Dermatology for the Department of Dermatology at University Hospital Lewisham and St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St Thomas Hospital (GSTT). This role runs general adult, paediatric dermatology and skin cancer clinics, provides inpatient reviews of acute dermatology referrals, and may involve flexible working across other South East London sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical care in general adult, paediatric dermatology and skin cancer clinics.
  • Conduct inpatient review of acute dermatology referrals.
  • Attend and manage scheduled direct clinical care activities.
  • Promote patient involvement in care decisions and respond to patient feedback.
  • Collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to enhance the trust’s research portfolio.
  • Provide high‑quality teaching to medical undergraduates and other health‑care professionals.
  • Act as educational supervisor and appraiser for training posts, where delegated.
  • Participate in performance management activities, including clinical efficiency, quality of outcomes, financial and operational efficiency.
  • Support junior doctor management, including work‑time compliance, cover planning, recruitment and appraisal.
  • Engage in governance activities such as clinical audit, incident reporting, NICE guideline implementation, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
  • Contribute to business planning, strategic initiatives, and external clinical network representation.

Qualifications & Eligibility

  • Medical qualification and GMC specialist registration in Dermatology.
  • Licence to practice medicine in the UK.
  • Experience in adult and paediatric dermatology and/or skin cancer services.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high‑quality patient care and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites within South East London.
  • Strong interpersonal, teaching, and leadership skills.
