Job Title: Python Developer – SaaS Platform
Location: Remote first (London or Manchester)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + benefits
Overview:
Join a profitable, product-led SaaS scale-up on a mission to simplify compliance and risk workflows for highly regulated sectors (think fintech, healthtech, legal). You’ll be joining a cross-functional team of engineers and designers shipping features used by 100k+ users across the UK, US, and EU.
They’re now hiring a mid-senior Python Developer to help scale the backend of their core product — built on Django, hosted on AWS, with some services starting to move toward Azure.

Tech Environment:
- Frontend: React (with a separate frontend team)
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker
The Role
You’ll work in a product squad alongside a frontend engineer, QA, product designer, and product manager. Your focus will be on improving the scalability of the API layer, optimising background tasks, and helping move parts of the infrastructure over to Azure.
Day-to-day might include:
- Building new endpoints in Django REST Framework
- Designing scalable background job queues (Celery)
- Improving test coverage and observability
- Reviewing PRs and mentoring junior engineers
What They’re Looking For:
- Strong experience with Python and Django
- Cloud exposure: AWS essential, Azure a bonus
- Good grasp of RESTful APIs and database design (PostgreSQL)
- Appreciation for clean architecture and automated testing
- Collaborative mindset and product-oriented thinking
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in a SaaS product environment
- Exposure to event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka, Redis Streams)
- Familiarity with GDPR/compliance workflows
- Any contributions to open-source Python libraries
