Job Description

Lead Product Designer

Salary: £130k

Location: London hybrid (2–3 days/week)

Team Size: 2 Senior Product Designers

The Brief:

We’re building the future of home energy from solar panels and EVs to batteries and AI-powered optimisation for millions of consumers.

This is a chance to lead design for a product suite that empowers consumers and energy companies to manage and optimise energy in the home.

You’ll shape everything from a beautifully simple consumer app to tools and APIs for energy providers all with the goal of making home electrification effortless.

You’re inheriting a market leading product with strong design legacy and the freedom to evolve it.

What we're hiring for:

  • Design Leader with strong IC craft

> Hands on leader driving; strategy, product design, service design and user research skills

  • Someone who can simplify complexity

> We operate in a highly complex domain , lots of data and tricky edge cases. The challenge is to make products feel simple and intuitive for both consumers and business users with an emphasis on inclusive design

  • Product-minded and outcome-focused

> Someone who challenges briefs and works closely with PMs and engineers to shape solutions, not just design UI's

  • Thrives in ambiguity

> The roadmap and future team structure are still evolving. We need someone adaptable who thrives without rigid processes, and can play a key role in driving the new direction as we enter another period of high growth

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own design for our full product ecosystem; B2B2C
  • Lead discovery and definition of major new product lines
  • Manage and mentor designers, championing their growth
  • Shape our design principles, design systems, and accessibility practice
  • Work closely with SVP Product, CTO and broader leadership team
  • Represent design across the business, with customers and in hiring

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a seasoned design leader across UX, UI, research and content
  • Have taken products from concept to scale (ideally in both B2B and B2C settings)
  • Care deeply about usability, systems, and solving real user problems
  • Love hands-on work in Figma and driving strategic thinking
  • Have built and led high-performing design teams in startups or scale-ups
