a confident extrovert, excited by the prospect of starting a new chapter of her life in a quaint, homely environment; loving and sociable, Veronica looks to fill the void of her currently absent partner by extending her sociability to her new neighbours; Veronica is confused when they show signs of unkindness, but her overly-extroverted nature leads her to poke around trying to find out their problem with her so that she can fix it and become friendly with her new community; as her patience is strained and she begins to fear for her safety, Veronicas joyful nature deteriorates into worry and obsession.

Description

Casting a rural folk horror, inspired by staples of the folk horror genre such as The Wicker Man, Witchfinder General and Robin Redbreast. Synopsis: We follow a sociable and optimistic woman who inherits a quaint country home in the village of Whiteridge from her recently deceased uncle. While she waits for her partner to join her in their home, she tries to get acquainted with her new neighbours. But each attempt is met with unwarranted hostility and a macabre sense of secrecy. As she becomes separated from her connections to the outside world, Veronica becomes more exposed to the sinister actions of the townspeople and their true intentions, constantly watched by the eyes of the towns owl insignia.
