My client is a successful, very established, directly authorised, Independent Mortgage and Protection Brokerage. The company's main focus is to provide the highest level of service and the best, most impartial advice available to its clientele. The firms numerous clients are based nationally.

Due to business growth the company are currently keen to recruit an additional employed Mortgage and Protection Broker to join their established team based within Birmingham, West Midlands. Car parking is freely available at the office.

Within this position you will handle Residential and BTL mortgage cases that are often of a complex nature, plus associated protection business. Additionally, in the future you will also have the opportunity to write Commercial Mortgage and Bridging Finance cases (if you would like to).

In addition to the large existing base of established clients that the company have, they also gain numerous new client referrals/recommendations and enquiries each week that are introduced to the Broker’s.

In turn, all client leads are provided to the Broker’s within this position, so there is no need for you to have your own existing client base if you do not have one.

The working hours within this position are specifically Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 17:00pm only, including a daily 1 hour lunch break. No Saturday/weekend work is required.

Within this employed position, key role features include;

  • You would provide independent whole of the market mortgage and associated protection advice to clients.
  • Qualified client leads will be consistently provided to you. In turn you are not required to have a client base of your own for this role.
  • You will receive both administration and compliance support from an experienced in-house, support team. Allowing you to spend more time speaking with and meeting with clients. Once your cases have been submitted, the administration team will then regularly liaise on your behalf with your clients, lenders, estate agents, protection providers and solicitors, seeing your mortgage and protection cases through to their successful completion.
  • You will receive excellent, sector specific training in person at the office.
  • You will be provided with all required technology and office provisions.
  • You will work within both a professional environment and in a successful, friendly and helpful team.
  • The company will support you with further career development opportunities in the future including training to additionally write Commercial Mortgage and Bridging Finance cases there.

Key candidate attributes:

  • Current/recent independent market mortgage and protection advising experience is essential.
  • Preferably good knowledge of the complex/adverse mortgage sector.
  • You must hold the full CeMAP qualification (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills (both English written and verbal).
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • The desire to continue to learn and develop within the role.
  • My client is keen to hire a candidate who is very client service focused, ambitious, driven/committed to succeeding, whilst also being a team player.

The successful candidate will receive a competitive starting annual basic salary of between £35,000 to £45,000 which is negotiable based upon skill-set/role experience. Plus an excellent uncapped, monthly commission structure earnt within the role. Leading to a realistic (based upon the performance of the firms existing Broker’s) annual OTE of £90,000 to £100,000.
