YMS is seeking experienced Dermatology Healthcare Assistants to support a busy NHS insourcing programme across the North West, working alongside Consultant Dermatologists to deliver high-quality outpatient and minor operations activity.

This is a hands-on clinical support role within a well-structured, consultant-led dermatology service. You will be working in a dedicated unit with full access to five clinical rooms, providing direct patient-facing support across outpatient clinics and minor procedures lists. Weekend and mid-week sessions are available, with flexible scheduling to suit your availability.

The Role

  • Providing direct clinical support and chaperoning for Consultant Dermatologists during outpatient clinics and minor operations
  • Assisting with full skin checks and dermatological examinations
  • Supporting One-Stop clinics and Two-Week Wait (2WW) cancer pathways
  • Preparing and maintaining clinical rooms, equipment, and procedure trolleys
  • Ensuring patients are prepared, informed, and comfortable throughout their appointment
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records in line with Trust requirements
  • Adhering to infection control, health and safety, and patient confidentiality standards at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HCA within a Dermatology outpatient or minor operations setting — this is essential
  • Demonstrable experience of chaperoning and supporting Consultant Dermatologists during clinical examinations and procedures
  • Familiarity with dermatology minor ops and skin check clinics
  • Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, reliable, and able to work at pace within a busy clinical environment
  • Up-to-date statutory and mandatory training
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
