We are looking for a talented, creative and detail-driven Graphic Designer to join the design team at Your Local Link. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. From designing eye-catching magazine adverts and editorial spreads to social media graphics and more, you'll see your work published across print, web and social media, reaching tens of thousands of readers across North and East Yorkshire each month.
We are a well-established local publishing and media company based in York. Our work supports hundreds of local businesses each month, and design quality is at the heart of everything we do. Based at our Clifton Moor office, you'll be part of a small, friendly and fast-paced team environment.
Role- Design advertisements for both print and digital platforms (magazines, websites and social media)
- Create editorial layouts and designs for our monthly publications
- Create artwork for commercial print including leaflets, flyers, menus, stationery, promotional materials and more
- Amend and develop existing artwork in line with client feedback
- Manage clients social media accounts, including liaising, planning, scheduling and asset creation
- Work from both detailed and basic briefs, translating client needs into strong visual solutions
- Prepare press-ready artwork to the correct specifications (bleed, crop marks, colour profiles and resolution)
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure artwork meets deadlines and client brand guidelines
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Excellent layout, typography and design skills
- A basic understanding of print production processes
- Previous experience managing social media accounts would be a bonus
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
- The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working to deadlines
- Previous experience in publishing, advertising or commercial design would be advantageous although not essential.
