An experienced paralegal is required from 1st February 2026, for an established family law firm, with an ever-growing caseload of privately funded clients. We have a modern outlook to running a firm, incorporating the best use of technology and responding to our client’s needs with face to face, telephone and video appointments. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who has experience of working as a paralegal and is looking for a varying role within a small family law firm.
Responsibilities:
- Support fee earners with a caseload of Divorce, Separation, Children, Wills, Probate, Lasting Power of Attorney and Matrimonial Finances.
About you:
- 3+ years experience as a paralegal within a family law practice, assisting qualified solicitors in a variety of family law matters including divorce, child arrangements and financial settlements.
- Experience of private client work is an advantage.
- Hold 5 or more GCSEs including maths and English, a higher education qualification in legal practice (equivalent to level three or above) or 3+ years experience in a similar legal role.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all types of people.
- A professional, proactive approach with strong client care skills and a sensitive, sympathetic understanding of clients’ needs.
- Excellent organisational skills, demonstrable examples of multi-tasking, ability to juggle competing priorities and work well under pressure to progress cases in line with court timetables and client expectations.
- Excellent analytical skills, able to use initiative but know when to seek guidance.
- Excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and case management programmes.
- Committed to your own professional development and maintain a CPD record.
