Senior Clinical Project Manager – United Kingdom

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Clinical Project Manager to join a growing, specialist CRO where you will have genuine ownership of clinical trial delivery and direct interaction with sponsors.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a lean, entrepreneurial CRO environment rather than a large, highly structured organisation. You will have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems quickly and help shape how projects are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of clinical trials from start-up through close-out.
- Act as the primary operational point of contact for sponsors and clients.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones and delivery strategies.
- Lead cross-functional and external study teams across multiple countries.
- Manage study risks, issues, dependencies and mitigation plans.
- Oversee CRO vendors, investigators, sites and other external partners.
- Ensure studies are delivered in accordance with protocols, ICH-GCP, applicable regulations and client requirements.
- Monitor project performance against timelines, quality expectations and agreed deliverables.
- Lead project meetings, governance meetings and sponsor updates.
- Provide clear and proactive communication to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support study budgets, resource planning and change management alongside the wider project team.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and the overall client experience.
- Contribute to the development of SOPs, processes and ways of working as the CRO continues to scale.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in clinical trial management / clinical project management.
- Strong experience within a CRO environment.
- Previous experience working directly with pharmaceutical, biotech or emerging life sciences sponsors.
- Experience managing clinical trials from study start-up through close-out.
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and applicable clinical research regulations.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional, remote and international teams.
- Excellent stakeholder and sponsor management skills.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to operate independently.
