This is an exciting opportunity for a Performance & Improvement Manager to join the Risk & Assurance team. You’ll be joining a team that’s collaborative, curious, and committed to doing things better. If you’re passionate about making a real impact and driving meaningful change, you’ll feel right at home here.

We are looking for an experienced individual that values collaboration, is passionate about what they do and making a difference. If you love turning business data into action and helping the organisation learn and evolve, this is the role for you.

As you would expect, no two weeks are alike; however, this is a role that is highly deadline-driven, so your week will be shaped by key reporting cycles, improvement activities, and delivering insights that matter. You’ll be reviewing performance, preparing reports, and leading on deep dives to triangulate a clear performance picture that senior leaders and the Board can act on. You will be homebased, living within the Northwest, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office approximately once or twice a week.

Responsibilities:

  • You’ll own our performance reporting framework — setting clear standards, defining KPIs, and ensuring the reporting is accurate, insightful, and decision-ready.
  • You’ll lead lessons-learned reviews, deep dives, and benchmarking exercises to uncover what’s working and what needs to change.
  • You’ll turn performance data into stories that drive action, embedding continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • You’ll lead improvement opportunities by bringing together performance data, benchmarking, and business analysis and reviews — turning insight into action that helps us work smarter.

What would make me stand out from the crowd?

  • Proven experience in performance reporting and continuous improvement principles with relevant Degree qualification.
  • Experience of managing a team and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Experience embedding lessons learned and root-cause analysis into everyday practice.
  • Experience with frameworks like Lean or Six Sigma (Green Belt is a bonus!).
  • Passion to solve problems, build relationships, and coach others to succeed.

Ideally, you will be:

  • A highly personable and collaborative manager who inspires and develops a high-performing team, creating an environment where ideas are shared, and people thrive.
  • Someone who can see the bigger picture while paying close attention to the details that matter.
  • Someone who values learning and knows how to embed lessons learned and root-cause analysis into everyday practice to drive improvement.

In return we offer:

  • £55,000-58,000 for a 35-hour week.
  • 25 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays.
  • A great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%).
  • An advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash, providing dental and optician cashback as well as health and wellbeing benefits.
  • A paid volunteering day and an amazing discount scheme.

At #TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run, or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too.

Closing Date: 9th January 2026
