We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Paralegals with experience of Litigation to join our Housing Team on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. As a Paralegal, you will case handle your own litigation files, supporting the Housing and Asset teams with gaining access to customer homes to ensure compliance with legislation relating to Electrical and Gas Safety requirements when No Access Procedures have been exhausted.

What will my working week look like? You will be a regional worker, living within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses.

What will I be responsible for doing? You will be responsible for your own case load and case progression. You will have relevant knowledge and experience of contract law and litigation enforcement experience. You will have excellent legal drafting skills on various Court documents, Injunctions, and witness statements. This role is both professionally satisfying and interesting as no two days or cases are ever quite the same.

  • Have experience in civil litigation claims handling, whether as a Claimant or Defendant litigator, in areas such as Contract law, Welfare law, ASB, Injunctions, Possession, and/or conducting contested case litigation.
  • Hold a suitable qualification (e.g., CILEX, LPC, degree or equivalent).
  • Have the skills, confidence, and ability needed to make on-the-spot critical decisions to achieve successful outcomes in demanding situations.
  • Have a high level of analytical, listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Be a collaborative and enthusiastic team player with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Have the personal and professional motivation and drive to excel in this area of law.
