This is an exciting opportunity for a Tenancy Support Officer to join our Tenancy Support Team. At Your Housing Group (YHG), our priorities are to keep people safe and be a great landlord. As a Tenancy Support Officer, you will have a key role to play in this.

Working with new and existing YHG customers to provide support with their practical and personal challenges, you will deliver pro-active solutions to enable customers to sustain their tenancy. You’ll provide one-to-one support, advice, and guidance to customers within Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire East over a wide range of support issues and manage referrals to specialist agencies.

What will I be responsible for doing?

  • Working with new and existing YHG customers to provide support on issues that could be putting their tenancy at risk.
  • Managing your own caseload, and working in partnership with our customers, colleagues, and external agencies while taking a holistic approach.
  • Building trusting professional relationships with customers and supporting them in developing the confidence and skills to manage their own tenancy.
  • Triage referrals and work closely with other colleagues across the business to ensure customers get the right support and services.
  • Ensuring that case notes and other records are kept updated and collecting and recording key data to demonstrate the positive outcomes of your work.
  • Working collaboratively with your tenancy support colleagues, sharing good practice, ideas, contacts, and solutions.

What would make me stand out from the crowd?

  • Experience in providing one-to-one support to vulnerable customers in a social housing context.
  • Good knowledge of best practice in safeguarding adults and safeguarding children.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with partner agencies.
  • Experience of developing support plans with customers and key internal/external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Ideally, you will be a passionate advocate for people who need support, helping them focus and build on the positives in their life. This role is suited to someone who is resilient and persistent, finds creative ways to engage with customers, can work independently, and manage their own caseload.

Your Housing Group is a registered social landlord helping people at every stage of life to live in quality homes they can afford. We are proud to play our role in tackling the UK's housing crisis by continually reinvesting in our 29K properties and tailoring our services to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

What’s in it for me?

In return, we offer £27,000 - £27,904 for a 35-hour week, and 25 days (pro-rata) annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays. Our employee deal offers much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance. We trust our people to manage their own diaries, and if you need time for an appointment, the school run, or an exercise class, we’re open to what works for you too.

This role also offers genuine progression opportunities with a wide range of training available both from YHG and local authority partners. If you feel this could be the right role for you, we would love to hear from you.

As this role allows access to confidential tenancy information, we regret we are unable to accept applications from existing tenants/residents or from those who have an association with existing tenants/residents. As part of our pre-employment checks, this role requires the successful applicant to complete a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
