So.... What is this role exactly?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to work within our ASB and Legal Team.

As a Paralegal, you will case handle your own claimant litigation files ensuring YHG obtain access injunctions where necessary to ensure our customers homes remain safe. You will work with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure we can legally gain access to customers homes to complete gas and electrical safety inspections once we have exhausted our no access procedures. As such we are looking for dynamic and motivated people who have previous experience of litigation whether as a claimant or defendant litigator.

If you have litigation experience and the natural drive and desire to succeed, be able to prioritise your case workload and meet strict deadlines, then we are keen to have you on board.

What will my working week look like?

You will be a regional worker, living within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses.

What will I be responsible for doing?

First and foremost, you will be responsible for your own case load and case progression. You will have relevant knowledge and experience of all relevant areas of Housing Law, Contract Law and litigation enforcement experience.

You will have excellent legal drafting skills on various Court documents / Injunctions /witness statements. As well as the variety of challenges you will face within this role you, will find that this role is both professionally satisfying and interesting as no 2 days nor cases are ever quite the same.

Have experience in civil / criminal litigation claims handling whether as a Claimant or Defendant litigator, in areas and have experience of conducting contested case litigation.

Hold a suitable qualification eg, CILEX / LPC, degree or equivalent.

Have the skills, confidence and ability needed to make on the spot critical decisions to achieve successful outcomes, in critically demanding situations.

Have a high level of analytical, listening, verbal and written communication skills and ideally you will be a collaborative & enthusiastic team player with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. You will have the personal and professional motivation & drive to want to excel in this area of law.
