Are you driven to achieve results and great outcomes; do you work at pace on your own or within a team? Are you looking to be part of an amazing organisation like Your Housing Group and join #TEAMYHG to provide a brilliant customer experience?

If this is you, and you have knowledge or experience within Social Housing Choice Based Lettings Portals and general administration duties, we would love to hear from you! This is an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Housing Assistant to join our Region 1 Housing Management Team, which covers the Liverpool, Halton and Sefton area.

The successful post holder will be performance driven, with the ability to manage your own workload and meet targets. Travel is required to our Head Office, Youggle House for meetings and training, and to occasionally cover our team office in Sefton Park Hub in Liverpool.

Reporting to the Assistant Regional Manager, you will provide advice and guidance to housing applications on Choice based lettings for Property Pool Plus, with responsibility for processing invoices and raising purchase orders. You will also work with the housing management team to ensure gas safety checks are booked in with our customers. You will be homebased, living within the North West, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses when needed. Realistically, you will be required to visit our Head Office approximately once a month.

You will be foremost responsible for providing the Regional Housing Management Team with an efficient and effective administration service. This relates to providing access for gas Safety Checks and the management of Choice Based Lettings Portal Property Pool Plus. You will be able to manage your own time against a list of tasks with varying deadlines and priorities whilst maintaining accurate records. You will also be passionate for handling customer and stakeholder enquiries through to resolution.

To be successful as a Housing Assistant here at YHG, you will have experience in:

  • Processing housing applications for choice-based lettings schemes administered by the Group, ensuring applications, queries and reviews are timely processed.
  • Supporting the Group’s Regional Housing Management Team and Compliance Team, through all available contacts proactively contacting customers requiring access for gas safety checks, minimising the requirement for Tenancy Management Officers to complete gas access home visits.
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and sundry payments in line with the Group Operational Standing Orders (OSO’s) and required timescales.
  • Completing landlord reference checks for existing and former customers.
  • Administering and maintaining the Group’s management move and tenancy transfer list.
  • Administering and completing low level tenancy changes e.g. name changes.
  • Completing ad-hoc administration tasks on behalf of the Regional Housing team.
  • Identifying and reporting any issues/breaches, in relation to Health and Safety.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policy and procedure; where appropriate refer customers at risk to relevant and appropriate Agencies/Local Authority.
  • Supporting the wider Regional Team to meet team objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role and/or grade.

Ideally you will have strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise a busy and reactive workload. A positive attitude with a flexible and adaptable approach is essential. This role is really suited to someone who likes to work at pace, is organised and performance driven, always wanting to provide a great customer experience.

This role also offers genuine progression opportunities where many post-holders in this role have gone onto other areas of the business such as Allocations and Lettings Offers and Tenancy Management Officers. If you feel this could be the right role for you, we would love to hear from you!

In return we offer £26,000.00 for a 35-hour week, and 25 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance. At #TeamYHG we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too.
