This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our People Services team on a part-time basis and continue to develop their payroll career with a business that offers homeworking and flexibility! We are looking for a Payroll Administrator that shares our passion in providing a first-class service to our employees and for ensuring customer excellence.

What will I be responsible for doing?

You will be working within a small, collaborative team, responsible for the delivery of the end-to-end payroll service. This includes responsibilities such as payroll calculations, mileage, expenses, and overtime and offers the opportunity to work closely with your colleagues in other HR Service teams to collaborate on tasks across the wider team. You will also support employees with any payroll queries they may have via telephone and email when needed. One of the great things about this position is that it’s part of a small, inclusive team, making it a great role for you to continue to develop your existing payroll skills while also expanding your experience into more in-depth payroll tasks.

What will my working week look like?

You will be mostly home-based, living within the North West, and within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington, to attend meetings and training courses. Ideally, we would like the successful applicant to work on Mondays as part of the 21-hour contract, to provide cover within the team, but we can be flexible in relation to the other 14 hours of your contract, to what may work best for you!

And what would make me stand out from the crowd?

To be successful as a Payroll Administrator here at YHG, you will ideally have experience in working within a fast-paced payroll environment and in prioritising and managing your own workload. Ideally, you will also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and well-honed customer service skills. This role is really suited to someone who is a collaborative team player, keen to get involved, with a genuine passion to add value within a people services team.

What’s in it for me?

In return, we offer a salary of £14,687.40 for a 21-hour week, 26 days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time role) with holidays increasing with time served, plus Bank Holidays. Our benefits offering provides much more than a competitive salary and holiday allowance. On top of this, we’ll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level healthcare cash plan, that doesn’t just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half-price cinema tickets, and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.

At #TeamYHG, we measure performance on outputs and quality, not hours and minutes. We offer a flexible, homeworking culture where you’re trusted to get the job done. If you need time for an appointment, the school run or an exercise class, if it fits with business needs, we’re open to what works for you too. And when you need to collaborate with your team, you can visit Youggle House – our purpose-built collaboration, wellbeing, and social space in Birchwood, Warrington.

So, if you are a Payroll Administrator, ready for a new challenge with a business that can offer opportunities to develop further skills, and a fantastic work/life mix culture, then we’d love to hear from you!
