Podiatrist in London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic HCPC registered podiatrist to join our dynamic and supportive podiatry team at Your Healthcare CIC. As a community interest Company (CIC), we prioritise community-driven care and offer an environment that empowers you to make a real impact. This band 5 post is ideal for a podiatrist looking to develop their assessment and treatment skills across the specialisms of podiatry. Full mentorship will be available and Your Healthcare has a protected CPD budget which all employees can apply for.

If successful, you will provide treatment and management to patients with complex medical and/or foot health needs. This will range across biomechanics and orthotic prescription, nail surgery under local anaesthesia, diabetic wound care assessment and treatment, and high-risk foot care. We conduct annual appraisals and quarterly one-to-ones, aimed at developing and supporting a 21st Century podiatrist. There is also the opportunity to work in the organisation's private practice. Your Podiatry offers a range of new treatment technologies including Lunula Laser Therapy and Swift Microwave therapy, offering a unique experience to the successful applicant.

Main duties of the job:

• To provide high quality evidence-based podiatric care to patients with a variety of foot health needs.
• Manage a complex caseload independently, including high risk foot care, wound management, biomechanical assessments and nail surgery.
• Work collaboratively within the team and with other healthcare professionals.
• Support service development and clinical audit.
• Participate and engage in supervision, training, quarterly one-to-ones and annual appraisal.

What we are looking for:

• BSc (Hons) in Podiatry (or equivalent)
• Local Anaesthesia certificate
• Current HCPC registration
• An interest in working with high risk patients, including those with diabetes
• Willing to develop experience and skill set across the podiatry specialisms.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• You will need to be a car driver and have access to a vehicle

Person Specification:

• Knowledge: Ability to use decision-making processes to identify when patients require the intervention of other professionals. Appreciation of good record keeping. Awareness of health and safety. Evidence of post-graduate CPD. Awareness of National Service Frameworks.
• Qualifications: HCPC registration, Diabetes foot module, Royal College of Podiatry Membership.
• Any Other Factors: Current driving licence and access to vehicle for work purposes. Willingness to ask for and take advice. Ability to make decisions, using available evidence where necessary. Commitment to teamwork. Commitment to high standard of care. Commitment to personal and professional development.
• Experience: Domiciliary care provision. Diabetic patient assessment. Core podiatry assessment and treatment. Provision of high risk/ulcer treatments. Biomechanics and orthotic prescription.
• Skills and Abilities: Highly developed physical skills, precision hand-eye coordination for prolonged periods. Nail surgery, health promotion, and basic biomechanics. Effective communication. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Positive attitude to change. Ability to work under pressure. Awareness of clinical governance.
• Personal Qualities: Confident and friendly. Flexible. Approachable. Reliable. Good timekeeping. Smart appearance.
