Part of the Palatinate Group, Your Golf Travel is the World’s largest golf travel business, offering golf breaks and golf holidays to over 3,000 destinations in 22 countries throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the Rest of the World. Since our inception in 2004 we have experienced rapid growth and are now a team of over 150 based out of our London and Brighton offices.
This is a key role within the finance team reporting into the Director of Financial Control and overseeing one direct report. You will be responsible for monthly management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and audit management. You will also work closely with our tournaments and events team to track performance.
This encompasses the following areas:
- Monthly management accounts for our core UK business
- Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of the annual audit
- Tournament performance reporting
- GP2 profitability analysis
The role involves a high degree of Business partnering and analysis. You will work closely with:
- Director of Financial Control
- Management Accountant
- Head of Transactional Finance
- Head of Tournaments, Events & Partnerships
Main Responsibilities:
- Management of the month end process, directly responsible for revenue and cost of sales reporting whilst overseeing marketing and overheads completed by your direct report.
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring all reconciliations are prepared by the relevant individuals.
- Management of the annual audit
- Tournament reporting on an ad-hoc basis to highlight performance
- GP2 profitability analysis to highlight profitability by channel, destination, sales agent after sales and marketing costs.
- Assistance with the implementation of a new ERP
- Support with the maintenance of our cost matching system and other core finance systems.
The above list is not exhaustive. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the overall objectives of the organisation.
Essential:
- Qualified accountant with a relevant accreditation (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- A minimum of 3 years Financial experience.
- Self‐motivated and focused with the ability to work proactively dealing with issues
- Highly organised and focused on delivery
- Able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation and work in a team environment
- Good MS Excel / Google Sheets modelling skills
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Preferred:
- Travel industry experience
- Proficient in the use of Tableau
- Knowledge of G‐suite products including building models in Google Sheets as well as Excel
