Job Purpose

Your Advantage Tennis Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable Assistant LTA Level 2 Tennis Instructor to support the delivery of high-quality tennis coaching programmes for juniors and adults of all abilities.

The successful candidate will assist in planning and delivering engaging coaching sessions, support player development pathways, and help create a positive, inclusive, and professional environment that reflects the academy’s values and coaching standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coaching & Programme Delivery
  • Assist in delivering group and individual tennis coaching sessions for mini tennis, juniors, adults, and performance players.
  • Support the Head Coach in planning structured and progressive training programmes.
  • Ensure sessions are fun, safe, inclusive, and aligned with LTA coaching standards.
  • Demonstrate tennis techniques clearly and effectively.
  • Help monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with holiday camps, competitions, internal tournaments, and academy events.
  • Player Development
  • Encourage player participation, confidence, and long-term enjoyment of tennis.
  • Support talent identification and player pathway progression.
  • Build positive relationships with players and parents.
  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and respect on and off court.

  • Maintain a safe coaching environment at all times.
  • Follow all safeguarding, welfare, health, and safety procedures.

  • Assist with session registers and attendance monitoring.

  • Work collaboratively with coaching staff and academy management.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • LTA Level 2 Tennis Instructor qualification, minimum.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Completed safeguarding training in line with LTA requirements.

Experience

  • Experience assisting or delivering tennis coaching sessions.
  • Experience working with children and/or adult players.
  • Understanding of player development and group management.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage players of varying ages and abilities.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Knowledge of LTA coaching principles and best practice.
