The Role
The role is responsible for overseeing the safe and clean setup of machinery and equipment across the site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. This includes maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to established protocols and practices. The position plays a key role in supporting the Engineering Team, contributing to its proactive approach and overall efficiency. The individual is expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and a collaborative mindset to drive excellence in engineering operations.
Pay: £13.53 per hour
The Ideal Candidate
- Good use of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience of working in Chilled and Frozen Environments working with Coated Products and White Fish Processing products.
- Ability to work with peers in a matrix structure to draw in external skills to achieve local goals
- Ability to manage priorities and projects across a multi-function organisation.
- A personal commitment to role model behaviours.
- Mechanically / Electrical minded with a genuine interest in Engineering.

Your Key Responsibilities
- To exercise diligence and judgement to promote transparent, values-led and professional machine minding activities of the equipment on site.
- Drive the improvement of the equipment that will have continuing long-term benefits for the site.
- Complete machinery / equipment set ups and changeovers.
- Complete machinery checks in line with food safety and H&S legislation and site guidelines.
- Complete hand backs to Production / Hygiene and Technical, where applicable.
- Ensure downtime is kept to a minimum, without compromising food safety and H&s.
- Reporting faults, abnormalities and be proactive in the prevention of machinery and equipment breakdown.
- Assist Engineering Technicians with breakdowns and tool changes.
- Take ownership of the machinery and educate Operatives to become more proactive and respectful of the equipment and machinery they operate.
- Monitor existing machinery / equipment to make sure they continue to perform at an optimal level.
- The application of financial rigor to all activities to ensure value for money on all projects implemented for the site.
- Independently generate ideas to improve performance in working area.
- Monitor and maintain a continual visual check throughout the working shift.
