The Role
Reporting directly to the site director, the role will manage an engineering team of approx. 10 ensuring all maintenance of the site, machinery, equipment and buildings within cost budget levels and compliance. Adhering to company and statutory health, safety and environmental policies and legislation to ensure maximum production efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate
- Solid experience of working in an FMCG food environment (ideally within high care).
- Solid and demonstrable engineering management experience of sizeable teams.
- Knowledge of basic engineering (electrical and mechanical) needs.
- Rational thinking and sound judgement.
- City & Guilds electrical and mechanical certificate.
- Industrial hydraulic and pneumatics trained.
- Results orientated.
- Demonstrable experience of developing positive and innovative team environments.
- Strong ability to proactively plan and prioritise.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo in order to achieve a culture dedicated to continuous improvement and best practice.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage a team of engineers.
- To effectively implement planned preventative maintenance programmes across the Company ensuring effective usage of engineering personnel.
- To monitor effectiveness of department utilising KPI statistical information and daily performance reports.
- To functionally and proactively develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce yield losses and reduce labour costs.
- To analyse, prepare and present effective solutions to the senior management team.
- To ensure all health and safety initiatives within the department are adhered to and monitored.
- Analyse discrepancies and implement corrective and preventative measures, obtaining regular reports to assess the success of these measures.
