We are looking for a General Manager for the Chequers, located in picturesque Walton on the Hill. This pub is a beautiful mix of traditional and modern. The front part of the pub has a number of nooks, crannies and spaces to sip on an ale, all of which have access to the bar which runs throughout all areas of the building. These give way to a modern, light, airy dining room and pub garden complete with bookable huts. The pub also has its own car park as a popular spot for visitors from further afield. The food here is all about elevated seasonal pub food using the freshest ingredients, with a menu that changes throughout the year. The pub also has its own pizza shack for those that want to share and sip al‑fresco. At its heart this is a modern community village pub, with plenty of spaces to hold all sorts of celebrations and events for its neighbours.

We believe pubs should be differentiated and individual and so we are looking for entrepreneurial General Managers to put their own stamp on our businesses. We’re all about freedom within a framework – you decide what goes on the food menu, tailor your offer to your guests and grow the business in line with your vision. You decide what events and sales‑driving activities to do, what the team uniform is, and look after your own recruitment and marketing. If you are a people‑focused Pub General Manager with fresh food experience, we want to hear from you.
