Overview

A thriving community pub with a big heart, sports screens and 8 boutique rooms for B&B. We are looking for a fantastic Head Chef to join our team and help shape our food vision.

As Head Chef at Young\’s, you’ll write your own recipes that match the food vision of your business using fresh seasonal ingredients. The vision could focus on local produce, country pub classics, seafood, small plates and sharers, dry-aged meat—each pub is unique and it’s up to you to put your own creative stamp on that vision. We work with fresh, seasonal produce, so the menu should evolve to showcase ingredients at their best.

What we look for in a Head Chef

This role requires someone who can inspire a team, bring out potential, and lead by example while developing, costing and producing fresh seasonal menus for the business\’s varied revenue streams.

  • Experience championing excellent service through quality food as a Head Chef or Sous Chef
  • Passion for leading and developing a team
  • Active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
  • Responsible for managing the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety at all times
  • Creativity to design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to maintain control of GP and labour
  • Pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth through engagement with kitchen and front-of-house teams
