Location: Chelmsford High School
Job Description: To assist in the coordination of the Community Education Early Childhood Programs to ensure proper supervision and activities for students.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Early Childhood Experience preferred
- Related school experience desirable
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education
REPORTS TO
Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community Education
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various instructional, clerical and other related duties, under the direction of the teacher, to aid in meeting the objectives of the program, including the following:
- Assist the teachers in providing coverage during breaks
- Ability to implement and create activities for small groups
- Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth
- Report necessary problems and/or information to teacher or supervisor
- Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students' individualized needs
- Assist with the supervision of students
- Assume responsibility for classroom in teacher's short absence
- Assume responsibility for all necessary personal care needs of the children, including toileting care and feeding requirements
- Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate
- Attend and complete all required training
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Start date is August 25, 2025. Program Hours: 6:45 am - 4:45 pm. Position Hours are 6:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Work year is 186 days including 180 school days, the day before school starts, the day after school ends, 1 set up day, 1 clean up day, 2 professional days.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in writing by the Childcare Supervisor.
