Job Description
Coventry Public Schools is seeking to hire an Anticipated 7 hr/day Building Paraprofessional at Coventry Public Schools.
Must hold a Teacher Assistant Certification and have passed a praxis exam OR have a teacher Assistant certification and Associates OR at least an Associates degree in education.
This is a union contracted 180 day position with compensation according to contract.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a comparable position preferred.
- Certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); if successful applicant is not currently CPI certified, training will be provided
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with children who have emotional behavioral concerns preferred.
- Experience with de-escalation preferred.
- Ability to assist in transitioning students into the general education setting.
- Ability to collect and monitor data as part of a behavior plan.
- Ability to work with a diverse team of teachers.
- Ability to work in an environment with children who may have emotional and physical outbursts.
