The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To work closely with and under the guidance of the Managing Director to develop existing business and find new opportunities for Young Spirits in the assigned markets, maximising sales potential through appointed distributors. To assist in promoting the Company’s brands, as required.

Main Responsibilities

  • To nurture and manage existing business for the company in assigned markets including developing and executing sales and marketing strategies; preparing and monitoring performance against budgets; reviewing and preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports; managing individual promotional budgets; undertaking credit control functions and obtaining overdue payments.
  • To expand existing business in the assigned markets, recognising market opportunities and constraints.
  • To identify and evaluate new business opportunities for the Company. New business is defined as bulk and branded sales.
  • To act in the role of the Company’s brand ambassador in assigned markets.
  • To maintain comprehensive and up-to-date market, commercial and customer records.
  • To assist in specific project work regarding new product development and contribute to sales and marketing departmental initiatives.
  • To manage and own your professional development to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.

Scope of Role

The Export Sales Manager will report to the Managing Director on the day-to-day operation of the assigned markets. They will be supported to make commercial decisions regarding sales prices and promotional support packages offered to customers/potential customers. Full training will be provided.

Working Conditions

This role does require travel and the Export Sales Manager will be required to stay away from home on an occasional basis. The job holder will be required to attend trade shows and other promotional activities on behalf of the Company. The job holder will be required to work additional hours as necessitated by the needs of the business including weekend working.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Commercially astute, numerate, and literate.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • PC literate, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Full clean driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree, preferably in a business-related topic. HND/HNC or equivalent would also be considered.
  • 4-5 years’ experience of working in a sales or brand marketing environment within the drinks industry and preferably in the Scotch whisky Industry is considered essential.
  • Background in product training in alcoholic beverages would be beneficial.
