About the Role:

We are looking for passionate and skilled volunteers to assist with our holiday workshops and weekly sewing classes at The Fashion School. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain teaching experience, develop their sewing skills, or simply get involved in an inspiring, creative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading sewing classes for children and adults, under the guidance of a tutor.
  • Provide support in managing students, ensuring a positive and engaging environment.
  • Help participants with various sewing tasks such as threading sewing machines, cutting fabric, and following patterns.
  • Ensure the sewing space is organized and safe for all participants.
  • Offer encouragement and guidance to students as they work on their sewing projects.

Requirements

  • Strong sewing skills with experience in following patterns and working with a sewing machine.
  • Comfortable working with children and assisting with their learning process in a group setting.
  • Ability to work well under supervision and in a team with fellow volunteers and tutors.
