Job Overview
Hansen Palomares seek a paralegal to support the work of our solicitors in community care, public law and housing for tenants, homeless and disabled people, migrants, and welfare benefits claimants.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have passed the SQE, LPC or BVC and must show:
- Commitment to legal aid and access to justice
- Understanding of power imbalance
- Sensitivity to people from diverse cultures
Responsibilities
Provided with training, supervision and support, duties will range from client interviews to final hearings, including drafting witness statements, preparing for and attending trial, and providing administrative support with billing, liaison with the Legal Aid Agency, the courts, experts and counsel.
Additional Skills
We provide a full bi-lingual service in Spanish and Portuguese thus ability to work in one or both of those languages is an advantage.
