Accountable to: Deputy Head of Education

Purpose of the role: Teaching staff are expected to carry out their role in line with the list of duties contained in Annex B of the Agreement “A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century”. Subject to the policy and procedures of Stafford Hall School, the duties of teaching staff are to perform such tasks as the Deputy Head of Education shall direct, having reasonable regard to overall workload related to the main duties listed below.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
  • Develop the school curriculum for S1 - S3 Broad General Education and S4 - S6 Senior Phase.
  • Assess, record and report the work of learners.
  • Prepare and present learners for examinations and assist with their administration.
  • Provide advice and guidance to learners on issues related to their education.
  • Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of learners.
  • Work in partnership with parents / carers, fellow staff and external professionals wherever applicable.
  • Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
  • Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
  • Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
