To proactively prevent youth homelessness across the Teignbridge area by providing timely information, advice and guidance on housing options to young people, families and partner agencies. The role applies a trauma‑informed youth work approach to build relationships and deliver high‑quality early prevention interventions, supporting young people to remain in or return to safe accommodation and working with families and wider networks to reduce relationship breakdowns and enable sustainable housing pathways.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely advice and guidance on housing options to young people, families and partner agencies.
- Build and maintain relationships with young people and their families using a trauma‑informed approach.
- Deliver high‑quality youth work interventions that focus on early prevention.
- Support young people in remaining in or returning to safe and appropriate accommodation.
- Collaborate with families and wider support networks to reduce relationship breakdown.
- Engage with relevant agencies to enable sustainable housing pathways.
Qualifications
- Experience in youth work or a related field is desirable.
- Knowledge of housing protocols, legislation and housing options is an advantage; training will be provided.
- Valid driving licence and access to a car for local travel.
- Strong communication and relational skills with young people, families and agencies.

- Permanent contract – 37 hours per week, salary £29,757.00.
