Overview
Young Devon’s Supported Lodgings is an OFSTED regulated initiative that provides young people aged 16–25 the opportunity to live in a safe and supportive home environment. Placed young people receive support from the host family, the local authority, and Young Devon staff, including practical guidance and emotional encouragement to help them prepare for their future.
Location
Based in Exeter, the role involves regular travel to meet with young people in placement, providing practical and emotional support to help them develop independence skills and achieve positive move‑on outcomes. The postholder will work closely with Supported Lodgings staff and partner agencies to support each young person’s progress and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide regular support to young people in placement, including practical and emotional guidance.
- Support the development of independence skills and facilitate positive move‑on outcomes.
- Coordinate with host families, local authority and partner agencies to monitor each young person’s progress.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of each young person’s progress and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Expectations

- Willingness to travel regularly for placements.

- Experience or knowledge of working with young people aged 16–25 and supporting their personal development and independence.
