We're looking for an experienced Young's Deputy Manager or General Manager in Training who can hit the ground running in one of the busiest pubs in the estate. The Ship is famous for its huge summers and high-volume trading. We recently took £100,000 in a single day over the Bank Holiday weekend, so this role is all about thriving in a fast-paced environment, leading large teams, and maintaining exceptional standards under pressure. With a new leadership team in place, it's an exciting time to join us.

What we're looking for:

  • This role would suit an ambitious Deputy Manager, Designate Manager, or aspiring General Manager who is looking to gain valuable experience in a flagship, high-volume site before taking on their own pub in the near future.

Required qualifications:

  • Previous management experience within Young's or a similar premium pub operator
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail (you'll be helping keep the office side of the business running smoothly)
  • Confidence leading and developing junior managers
  • The ability to manage a large team in a busy, high-volume environment
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing day-to-day administration and email correspondence
  • Lost property management
  • Supporting payroll and people administration
  • Maintaining compliance and operational standards
  • Training, mentoring and developing junior management team members
  • Supporting the General Manager with the smooth running of the business
