The Role
We’re seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Dev Enablement team, where you’ll help empower product engineers to deliver high-quality code faster and more reliably. You’ll build systems that improve developer productivity, streamline CI/CD, and enhance infrastructure efficiency, while leading through technical excellence, collaboration, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Standardise and enforce platform engineering practices across environments (development, staging, production).
- Collaborate with developers to enhance development workflows and reduce friction in delivery pipelines.
- Own and evolve test automation strategies and tools used across engineering teams.
- Contribute to strategic technical direction and roadmap discussions for your team and platform area.
- Support and lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and postmortems.
- Document and evangelise internal tools and best practices to ensure wide adoption.
The ideal candidate will have the following skillset
- Strong software engineering experience, including backend development in languages like C#, Python, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation in AWS environments.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Helm, and GitOps practices.
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure using AWS services including VPC, EC2, IAM, Lambda, S3, EKS, and Control Tower.
- Experience with observability and monitoring stacks (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead the resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers within a team.
Desirable skills
- Experience in performance optimisation and stress testing distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud cost optimisation strategies.
- Exposure to integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
