To meet the growing demand for our technology and services, we are seeking a Collections Team Lead to join our Collections & Recoveries department. In this role, you will be instrumental in unlocking the full potential of our people and driving exceptional team performance. You will recruit, develop, and empower a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, growth and results. Working closely with other team leaders and senior leadership, ensuring our operations deliver maximum impact and efficiency.

As a leader, you will:

  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of Collections Agents, inspiring and motivating them to consistently meet and exceed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and team sessions, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented culture.
  • Oversee daily collections activities across multiple lending geographies, handle escalated or complex customer cases with professionalism and empathy.
  • Work closely with Customer Success and other departments to resolve issues and embed best practices.
  • Drive efficiency through process improvements and the smart use of data and automation, ensuring all activities comply with internal policies, FCA guidelines, and TCF principles.
  • Monitor performance using data and analytics, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions, while championing fair customer outcomes and sustainable repayment solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing collections / credit control teams.
  • A facts-based problem solver with a get-things-done mentality.
  • A great communicator with an ability to drive team performance.
  • Strong use of Excel or any data analysis software is a plus.
  • Successful track record of delivering against ambitious targets.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Proactive, take ownership, and act with urgency.

Professional Profile:

  • Understanding of debt management strategies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Credit Control, Collections, or Debt Recovery.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a leadership or management role within the same domain.
  • Experience managing teams of 5+ team members.
