We are growing fast and are looking for a technically minded, action-oriented Partner Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology, problem‑solving, and building outstanding partner experiences. You’ll be at the intersection of technology, product, and partnerships, leading the implementation of partner integrations and ensuring that every solution we deliver drives value for our partners and their merchants.
As a Partner Solutions Consultant/Engineer, you will take ownership of partner integrations, working together with internal & external stakeholders to deliver market‑leading solutions for YouLend’s existing, and future, strategic partners. This role sits within YouLend’s implementation function, which owns:
- technical and product presales
- new partner implementations and expansions
- support for existing partners.
You’ll work closely with Commercial, Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, and the broader implementation team. This role is to be a named technical owner for US‑based partner work, with leadership support on strategic decisions and escalations where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Own partner integrations end‑to‑end from discovery and solution design through launch and early post‑go‑live support.
- Act as the primary technical contact for partners, running workshops to understand partner architecture, workflows, data availability, authentication models, and commercial or operational constraints.
- Recommend fit‑for‑purpose integration models across referral, hybrid, embedded component, and fully embedded approaches.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to translate partner requirements into workable solutions, unblock delivery issues, and troubleshoot integration problems using logs, API payloads, error responses, and partner‑provided evidence.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex partner issues where commercial, operational, and technical context all matter.
- Help standardise repeatable implementation patterns, improve documentation and tooling, reduce time‑to‑launch, and feed partner insights back into YouLend’s modular integration offering.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar partner/customer‑facing technical role.
- Strong API and integration fundamentals, including HTTP, REST, JSON, authentication, and webhooks, with practical experience using tools such as Postman, Datadog or other logs/monitoring tools, and basic SQL for troubleshooting and investigation.
- A track record of owning technical partner or customer deliveries through to go‑live, including running technical discovery sessions and workshops with external stakeholders.
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and senior commercial stakeholders.
- Strong judgment in shaping solution design and trade‑offs, especially where there is a balance between MVP delivery and future scale.
- Confidence managing ambiguity and moving work forward across multiple internal and external teams.
- Excellent written communication, including producing clear implementation updates, action tracking, risk summaries, and solution documentation.
- Good delivery discipline: you keep actions moving, maintain implementation hygiene, and flag risks or delays early alongside practical options.
- A collaborative style and comfort working cross‑functionally with Commercial, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Risk teams.
- A bias to action and a practical, partner/client‑oriented mindset.
