As aResearch Executive working in YouGov’s Reputation and Business Research team, you’ll be running and working on a varied list of research projects on a whole host of topics for a wide range of clients across different sectors, plus helping senior staff on delivering research for YouGov’s top-tier accounts. You will have support from seniors in the team on larger and complex projects.
The role requires working closely with other YouGov teams (Account Management, New Business, Off shore operations & support teams etc.) as well as directly with clients to design and deliver research which hits the brief and is clear, unbiased and stands up to scrutiny (thanks to YouGov’s research’s amazing reputation and media presence).
You will be liaising with clients and collaborators on all day-to-day-day aspects of projects – from project inception to project delivery and everything in-between
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
- Supporting senior researchers / in designing and running research projects, both domestic and international, across various methodologies (end-to-end project management)
- Developing and applying your understanding of research methods, including the principles of good questionnaire design
- Creating data analysis plans and interpreting the data to find trends and insights towards answering clients questions in the brief
- Visualising data in reports and writing commentary, headlines and summaries towards creating stories (mainly in PowerPoint, but also in Word sometimes), with senior researcher support
- Working closely with operations teams who are responsible for scripting, fieldwork management and data processing including coding
- Collaborating with colleagues to quality-check, design and deliver projects from start-to-finish
- Attending client meetings as a research representative at various stages as needed, including proposal, status checks, reporting and post reporting follow ups.
- Learning and using internal YouGov processes and systems
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
Technical skills and qualifications
- Educated up to degree / HND level in a relevant (e.g. social sciences, English) subject desirable, or industry experience/ recognized qualification such as the MRS Advanced Certificate etc.
- Excellent written, oral and electronic skills
- Basic understanding of statistics and quantitative analysis desirable
Demonstrated knowledge and experience
- Quantitative primary research experience in a client-facing role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver results, meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Problem-solving, analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills for managing all internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Collaborative team worker who takes pride in their work, positive and friendly attitude, enjoys working within a vibrant and dynamic team environment
