The Data Strategy & Management organization is the central engine driving YouGov into a fully data-driven enterprise. Its mission is to collect, create, connect, and monetize data assets that power YouGov’s products, enhance customer value, and strengthen competitive advantage. We ensure that YouGov’s “living data” platform evolves into an integrated, intelligent infrastructure that captures the voice of people around the world and delivers that intelligence into the workflows of our clients.

Our Teams Are Organized Into Four Main Functions:

  • Data Strategy & Innovation: Identify market opportunities and emerging data trends; decide which data to collect to drive industry value, product adoption, and customer retention.
  • Data Integration: Work with product and engineering teams to design and implement the modern data platform, ensuring interoperability and quality within YouGov and among our customers.
  • Data Governance: Determine and implement data standards, policies and procedures, working cross-functionally with our panel and engineering teams.
  • Data Analytics: Ensure deep internal and external understanding of YouGov’s customer-facing data assets.

Together, these functions create a continuous feedback loop — aligning internal data capability with market opportunity.

The Vice President, Data Partnerships will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing YouGov’s global strategy for data monetization and ecosystem expansion, with a focus on the United States. Working closely with the Global Head of Partnerships, this leader will identify initiatives that transform YouGov’s extensive behavioral, respondent-level, and syndicated data assets into scalable products and partnerships that create long-term enterprise value. The successful candidate will combine commercial acumen, data fluency, and strategic foresight to cultivate partnerships, propose innovative data-driven offerings, and strengthen YouGov’s position as a trusted global leader in data and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • US Data Strategy & Market Development: Help to define a comprehensive data strategy that maximizes the value of YouGov’s global data assets through partnerships, licensing, and integrated product offerings. Conduct market intelligence and ecosystem mapping to identify emerging opportunities in data collaboration, AI integration, and analytics innovation. Partner with Marketing and Product teams to position YouGov’s data capabilities effectively in the marketplace, aligning with growth priorities. Establish strategic frameworks and KPIs for data initiatives that measure impact beyond revenue — including innovation, reach, and ecosystem development. Act as a strategic ambassador and thought leader, representing YouGov at industry events, panels, and innovation forums to position the company at the forefront of ethical, intelligent data use.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Expansion: Execute high-impact partnerships with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Snowflake), data clean rooms, analytics platforms, AI/ML firms, and technology integrators. Lead end-to-end partnership structure and management, including commercial terms, co-development opportunities, data licensing, and technical integration planning. Oversee strategic partner project management, ensuring deliverables are met and relationships evolve toward long-term collaboration. Drive pilot and proof-of-concept projects that explore new data collection technologies and methodologies. Manage vendor and partner operations, including SOW approvals, contract execution, POs, and vendor performance through systems such as NetSuite.

What You Need To Know (technical & Behavioral Skills/Competencies):

  • 8+ years of experience in data partnerships, strategy, or business development, ideally within data analytics, technology, or AI-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic alliances and leading data-focused ecosystem initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, APIs, AI/ML applications, and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Skilled in cross-functional leadership, influencing without direct authority, and managing global stakeholder networks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and privacy frameworks across key global markets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills with a strategic, collaborative mindset.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strategic yet hands-on mindset, comfortable defining long-term vision and engaging deeply in data structure and collection details.
  • A passion for connecting disparate data sources to tell coherent, insightful stories about people and behaviour.
  • The ability to make clear, evidence-based decisions about which data to collect and how to structure it for long-term value.
  • A strong commitment to accuracy, transparency, and ethical data use, core to YouGov’s reputation for trusted insight.
