About the Crunch Team
The Frontend Software Engineer role in the Data Experience tribe will work within the Crunch team.
Crunch is the core web application for our syndicated data products, custom research, and first-party research hub.
The Crunch team is responsible for creating innovative, intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences for the world’s leading brands.
This role will be a vital part of the evolution of one of our premier data products, such as YouGov Brand Index and Profiles.
We are inviting you to join our fully remote team of developers and operators helping make our platform faster, more secure, and more reliable.
You would help us deliver new features and build the future for how we deploy our products faster and safer, while increasing the availability and reliability of our systems.

About the Role
The Discovery Team is part of the Data Experience tribe and is responsible for designing and developing frontend systems to support Crunch’s analytics experience for research projects and YouGov syndicated data products such as Profiles.
What You Will Do
Collaborate closely with other frontend and backend engineers to design, build, test, and deploy new user-facing features and interactive data visualizations
Work with Product and non-technical colleagues, as well as independently
Contribute to code quality through unit testing, integration testing, code review, and system design
Establish realistic estimates for timelines and ensure deadlines are met
Assist in diagnosing and fixing system failures quickly
Manage the application\’s state to ensure a predictable, consistent, and performant user experience
Participate in improving our codebase by reviewing pull requests and maintaining high code quality and test coverage

Unit testing with Jest (over 9000 unit tests across our app)
CircleCI for continuous integration and deployment
Basic Qualifications
Commitment to high development standards and comprehensive testing
Ability to work collaboratively with peers across various functions
Ability to estimate work, meet deadlines, and take ownership
Self-motivation and strong time management
Appetite for continual improvement and growth
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data locality problems
Implementing design specifications from Figma
End-to-end testing using Playwright
Previous experience with responsive design interfaces
Bachelor’s Degree in Programming, Computer Science, or Engineering-related field
